Girls, if you’ve ever walked into the cosmetic section of a store and were left dumbfounded by the numerous amounts of products and options in front of you, this article is for you.
While makeup isn’t something that should define your identity as a woman in society, it can most certainly be a tool to further express your individuality as a female. I know it’s easy to think that no matter how many times you watch makeup tutorials, you’ll never be able to pull off the mastery that you’re seeing on YouTube or television, but that’s not true! Just because you’ve never been taught every detail about every cosmetic product out there, or have no personal experience with makeup, it doesn’t mean that you can’t wear a glammed up look every now and then.
Makeup is art, but we at Ehsaas also know that it can be something confusing to navigate through your first time. Therefore, make sure you follow these 8 beginner application steps to uncomplicate your makeup experience!
Step 1: Moisturize
Your skin and makeup will look their best if the foundation you start off with is something that not only nourishes your skin, but provides a smooth surface for other cosmetics to be applied.
Step 2: Primer
Primer is essential to create a barrier between your actual skin and the tougher products like foundation, bronzer or concealer.
Step 3: Concealer
Many women actually make the mistake of applying their concealer over their foundation but this is a rookie mistake! Wearing your concealer underneath foundation is what helps your blemishes, pimples, acne, or any discoloration to stay covered for a longer amount of time.
Step 4: Foundation
A good foundation that matches the color of your neck gives you the look of flawless skin.
Optional. Depending on the look you are aiming for, applying these products after foundation is not a must in every occasion.
Step 6: Blush
After foundation, adding a pop of color to your cheeks adds some dimension to your face and will liven up your makeup.
Step 7: Eyeshadow/Liner/Mascara
Optional. Again, application of these products is not a must in every occasion because it depends on the style of makeup you are aiming for. If it’s an everyday and natural look you’re rocking, it’s okay to go ahead and skip this!
Step 8: Lipstick and Lipgloss
Last but certainly not least, adding color to your lips is always the best way to wrap up your makeup application. This can be anything from a light nude pink to a bold red lip. No matter the color, this is what gives you the finishing touch every makeup look needs to have!
